Realme Unveils Ultra-Slim Concept Phone With a 15,000mAh Battery
BEIJING — At its recent 828 Fan Festival in China, Realme stunned the tech world by showcasing two futuristic smartphones, including one that pushes the limits of mobile battery technology. The highlight was a sleek concept device housing a massive 15,000mAh battery, a capacity larger than all five iPhone models from the 12 through the 16 combined.
Despite the enormous power pack, the phone measures just 8.89mm thick, making it slimmer than most rugged phones with far smaller batteries. According to Realme, this monster cell could deliver up to five days of use on a single charge, 30 hours of nonstop gaming, or enough energy to watch 25 full-length movies. The company is even pitching it as a hybrid device — part smartphone, part power bank — capable of charging other gadgets like smartwatches and phones.
The technology relies on silicon-carbon anodes, a cutting-edge advancement also being explored by brands like Honor and Oppo. Realme says this innovation allows higher energy density without the bulk usually associated with oversized batteries.
However, there’s a catch: the 15,000mAh version remains a proof of concept and is not yet ready for mass production. Industry insiders suggest that a more practical 10,000mAh version could be on the way, hinting at the possibility of a commercial launch sooner rather than later.
Alongside its battery-focused prototype, Realme also revealed a second experimental model called the Chill Fan concept phone. Designed for gamers, this device features an advanced three-stage cooling system with a vapor chamber, built-in fan, and thermoelectric cooler. According to Realme, this setup can lower device temperature by up to 6°C, ensuring smooth performance during heavy workloads.
With these bold experiments, Realme is signaling its ambition to redefine what smartphones can do — whether it’s lasting nearly a week per charge or staying cool under pressure. While consumers may need to wait for these concepts to become reality, the message is clear: the future of mobile technology is all about power and performance.
